The Valley City Garden Club will meet Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 6656 Center Road, Liverpool Township at 7:00 p.m.  At this meeting, Joyce Giles will be presenting a program about the Medina County Home and the plantings there.  In addition, election of club officers for the 2018-2019 year will take place.  Come and bring a friend.   Roll Call response will be your favorite point of interest in Medina County.  The club offers many interesting and informative speakers, demonstrations and field trips.  For more information, contact Tom Sasalar at 440-724-1156.

The Valley City Garden Club will be holding their annual President’s Tea at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 6656 Center Road, Liverpool Township on Wednesday, June 20, 2018.  The tea will begin at noon.  The agenda will include Angelina Sheetz’s presentation titled Medicinal Herbs and will also include nomination of officers for 2018-2019.  The high spirits of the tea will be demonstrated by ladies in fancy hats and gentlemen in bow ties.  For more information, contact Tom at 440-724-1156.

Please join the Liverpool Township Historical Society in celebration of our Nation’s Birthday!

The fun starts at 10:00 on Wednesday July 4th with the Parade lineup as follows:

Marching units at the Depot, cars (classic & antique) behind Valley City Family Medicine (Dr. Grabenstetter’s office), bikes and both large and small floats at EUCC.

11 AM-Parade steps off down 303 from the Depot to West River to Maple Street, ending at Mill Stream Park where all the activities will be held.

7:00 PM litchfield Band concert

Dusk-Fireworks

There will be concessions available benefitting BSA Troop 502 after the parade and during the evening events.

The Historical Council of Medina County is pleased to announce that the Dandelion Drive – A Journey in Time – is scheduled for Sunday, May 20, 2018 from 12 noon to 5pm. Visit five (5) historical societies in the northern region of Medina County to include Liverpool Historical Society,  Brunswick Area Historical Society, Hinckley Historical Society, Granger Historical Society and the Weymouth Preservation Society. Each location will feature artifacts, history, displays and more. New this year included on the flyer is a chance to win a $100 gift card. The Valley City Garden Club will be holding their giant annual plant sale on the grounds of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 6656 Center Road, Liverpool Township on Saturday, May 19, 2018.  The sale will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. with no early sales.  Some of the items that will be available will be herb, vegetable, annual and perennial seedlings.  There will also be ground covers, bushes, trees and many other garden-related items and, of course, the perfect thing for your garden.  Many of the items will be those lovingly grown by club members to help support the goals of the organization.  The sale will continue until noon.  For more information, contact Tom at 440-724-1156.

Spring Clean-Up AKA Dumpster Days

With spring finally here it’s time to clean up around the house and yard with the Township’s annual clean-up days better known as Dumpster Days. This year Dumpster Days will be on Friday june 1 and Saturday June 2 from 8:00 am till 4:00 pm. As always, the dumpsters will be located behind the Fire Station at 6700 Center Rd.

Be advised you will need to show a valid ID to prove you are a Liverpool Township resident.

Acceptable Items include:

Residential waste only, mattresses/furniture, lawn mowers/trimmers, plastic/metal/wood scraps, heaters/hot water tanks, TVs/computers/electronics, toys/bikes/tools, and glass.

Prohibited items include (but not limited to):

Paint, tires, appliances with refrigerant (freon), chemicals, medical or animal waste, explosives or flammable material, ammunition, l...

Betsy Ross in Valley City

As school kids we all heard about Betsy Ross.  How she was visited by General Washington during the Revolutionary War.  And how she made the very first American flag.  Now we can hear her story from her own mouth.  Sandra Zikursh engagingly portrays and brings Betsy to life.  This event is one of a continuing series of absorbing History Programs brought to the community by the Liverpool Township Historical Society.  Tuesday, April 10, 7PM at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 6656 Center Rd, Valley City, OH.  Admission and parking are free, donations appreciated.  See www.valleycity.org if inclement weather threatens.  Call 330-483-3038 for more info.
